Back in 2020, Bayern Munich were among the clubs that showed interest in Kai Havertz, but he opted to leave Bayer Leverkusen for Chelsea instead.

In an interview with Sport Bild, Havertz reflects on that decision and admits that it's not easy to turn down Bayern.

"Bayern are a huge club in general, and as a German player it's hard to say no to them, but my personal goal was always to play abroad in England or Spain," Havertz said.

"I generally like new adventures and I wanted to experience new things. After four years in the Bundesliga, it was almost too boring for me. Looking back, it was the right decision.

The arrival of former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel as Bayern Munich coach has reignited speculation linking Havertz with the Bavarians.

However, Bild recently reported that the former Leverkusen player is not a transfer target for Bayern at the moment.
