Out of nowhere, Sky Germany reported on Monday night that Bayern Munich have reached a verbal agreement with Chelsea attacker Christopher Nkunku over a winter transfer.

The German media outlet also stated that Nkunku is Bayern's top transfer target until the end of the transfer window and that young striker Mathys Tel could be used in a swap deal to make the move happen.

However, when confronted with this at a press conference on Tuesday, Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund insisted there are no plans to offload Tel.

“Mathys Tel is a very important player for us. We have a very good dialogue because he's a big talent who should take on an important role for us. We've had a lot of conversations. Our clear aim is that Mathys will make the breakthrough with us," Freund said, emphasizing that there are currently no thoughts of bringing in another attacker this month.

“We're very pleased with our squad in terms of quantity and quality. Obviously we'll listen if a player isn't happy, then we'll talk about it. We want to see through our plan with Mathys.”
