Considered a player possessing a skill set no dissimilar to countryman Josko Gvardiol, 23-year-old Dinamo Zagreb center back Josip Šutalo was already linked with a move to RB Leipzig this past autumn. The move never ended up materializing, in large part because Gvardiol opted to remain with his current Bundesliga club for the time being.

Croatian online news portal Germanijak now reports that another Bundesliga side are interested in procuring the six-times-capped Croatian international. VfL Wolfsburg are said to have initiated contact with Zagreb about a potential transfer. Šutalo  current estimated market worth is €18 million.

VfL trainer Niko Kovac is, according to the portal, very much interested in bringing his Croatian compatriot in. The high transfer fee, combined with the fact that many former Zagreb players such as Josip Brekalo, Marin Pongracic, and Bartol Franjic haven't worked out terribly well for the club, may nevertheless serve as impediments to the deal.
