Report: Stuttgart consider buying back Croatian center-half

Württemberg's "Stuttgarter Nachrichten" reports that VfB Stuttgart are considering pulling an economical buyback option on central defender Matej Maglica of Switzerland's F.C. Gallen.
Facing the departure of Konstantinos Mavropanos and possibly also Hiroki Ito, one component of the summer refresh at VfB Stuttgart apparently involves the pulling of a buyback option on Croatian defender Matej Maglica. This is according to a report appearing today in the "Stuttgarter Nachrichten".

The 24-year-old center back once featured prominently for the Stuttgart reserves. Sven Mislintat's administrative regime loaned him out to his current Swiss side and later sold him outright with a reasonable buyback option. The local BaWü newspaper reports that the said option is only €450,000; well below the player's current estimated market worth of €750,000.

Maglica has scored four goals in 45 appearances for his Swiss side across all competitions since moving south of the border. The defender made one brief substitute appearance for the Stuttgart senior side; playing five minutes at the at of a 0-1 loss to Arminia Bielefeld in November of 2021.
