Report: Leipzig also eye Union SG striker Boniface

Sky Germany reports that RB Leipzig are also interested in acquiring Union St. Gilloise striker Victor Boniface.
Already linked with 1. FC Union Berlin, Union St. Gilloise striker Victor Boniface is reportedly also on the short-list of RB Leipzig. The Nigerian has had more than ample opportunity to audition for potential Bundesliga suitors this season playing for Belgian side Union St. Gilloise. The Brussels based club has faced Union Berlin four times and Bayer 04 Leverkusen twice in the 2022/23 Europa League.

Boniface has scored six goals in the 2022/23 of Europe's second-tier club competition, sharing the scoring lead with Manchester United's Marcus Rashford. His overall form for club this season has seen hist estimated market worth skyrocket from €700,000 last summer to €6 million today. A move to a larger European club seems imminent for the 22-year-old.

Leipzig will be looking for attacking reinforcements this summer after the departure of Christopher Nkunku and reliable reports that André Silva is also considering leaving. Boniface's current deal with his Jupiler Pro League side runs through 2026. Having just joining the Belgian outfit last summer, it's possible the rising talent may not wish to make another switch so soon.
