Thomas Delaney - Dortmund's clever hard hitter

Thomas Delaney has committed more fouls than any other Dortmund player this season and gladly takes a yellow card to sacrifice himself for the team. But he has never been shown a red card.
Since joining Borussia Dortmund from Werder Bremen last summer, Thomas Delaney has added valuable physicality and stability to the team and shown that he certainly isn't afraid to take responsibility.

The Danish international is always happy to sacrifice himself for the team. This season, he has committed more fouls (20) and seen more yellow cards (4) than any other Dortmund player. Last season, Delaney committed 79 fouls in total - more than any other Bundesliga player.

But although Delaney commits a lot of fouls and picks of plenty of yellow cards, he has actually never been sent off.

"I know the statistics. When I played in Copenhagen, I was also the player with the most yellow cards most of the time. There's a long story with me and the fouls," Delaney said in an interview with Sport Bild.

"My teammates often tell me: 'Thomas, stay calm, you've already been shown a yellow card'. But I've already played 100 games with a yellow card and never seen red. I already have some experience," he added.

Delaney and Dortmund take on RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga later today.
