TSG 1899 Hoffenheim relatively quickly confirmed reports surfacing on Monday with regard to the future of on-loan American defender Justin Che. In statement issued on the club's website Tuesday, club sporting director Alexander Rosen spoke on the future of the U.S. talent, in the process confirming that Sporting Lisbon loanee Eduardo Quaresma would also be returning to his parent club.

"Justin and Eduardo are talented boys with excellent character who have both shown promising approaches time and again," Rosen noted in one statement, "However, we agree with the players that in the current phase of their careers they need regular playing time in order to continuously develop. We unfortunately cannot guarantee them this here."

Rosen also issued two statements on players due back in Sinsheim after their current loan deals expire. Twenty-one-year-old midfielder Marco John is set to return after a successful loan-stint spent with SpVgg Greuther Fürth in the second division. John made 23 appearances for the Kleeblätter, playing both in midfield and along the back line. He registered three assists in the 2022/23 campaign.

Forward Maximilian Beier will also be welcomed back after an extended loan spell with Hannover 96. Beier has scored six goals in 31 second-division games for the Lower Saxons this season. He netted seven tallies across all competitions for die Roten across all competitions last year. Both players are expected to play a greater role in the team next year, irrespective of which division Hoffenheim competes in.

"Playing practice is an elementary building block for the development of talents," Rosen noted, "This has been proven both in the case of Maxi and Marco."

"Marco John has already performed consistently and reliably for us in the Bundesliga," Rosen said of John, "and he gained even more stability, security and confidence last year at Fürth."

"Maxi Beier is an extremely fast striker who provide danger in attack at any time," Rosen said of Meier, "but he's also prone to constantly pressuring opponents in the build-up to the game due to his aggressive approach behavior."
