Sport1 Report: Multiple clubs interested in prying Masovic away from Bochum

German broadcaster Sport1 reports that many foreign clubs have expressed interest in VfL Bochum defensive all-rounder Erhan Masovic. The Revierklub may be tempted to cash in on their surprise star.
Newly capped Serbian international Erhan Masovic has seen his estimated market worth rise from a paltry €250,000 to €5 million in the nearly three years since he joined promoted VfL Bochum quietly on a free from FC Brugge. The 24-year-old even managed to net four league goals for the Revierklub this season; playing a vitally important role in Bochum's avoidance of relegation.

German broadcaster Sport1 reports that many foreign clubs have taken notice. RSC Anderlecht and KAA Gent are reportedly interested in bringing Masovic back to Belgium. Two Italian sides (Turin FC and AC Monza) as well EFL Championship club West Bromwich Albion are also said to have the player on their radar.

Bochum will obviously not be keen to part company with one of their key cogs, particularly after several defensive loan actors were returned their parent clubs after the most recent season concluded. Masovic may nevertheless wish to take the next step himself and the 1848ers could find compensation well above the €5 million mark if a bidding war between multiple clubs ensues.

The now twice-capped Serbian defensive midfielder/center back remains under contract with the VfL through the end of the 2024/25 campaign. At present, he is by far the most highly valued player on Thomas Letsch's roster.
