After two disappointing performances against Ukraine (3-3 draw) and Poland (1-0 loss), Germany will be determined to improve when they take on Colombia in their third and final friendly of the month tonight at the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen.

With Germany having won just one of four matches since their disastrous group-stage exit at last year's World Cup, pressure is mounting on head coach Hansi Flick, although he received the full backing of DFB sporting director Rudi Völler at a press conference following the latest defeat to Poland.

Flick himself admitted that his team is lacking confidence at the moment.

"It's all about the result. Everyone is ready to give everything. It's not enough for us to be prepared, the players have to give 100 percent. We can't guarantee anything, not even wins. Right now, you can feel that there's that last bit of confidence and trust missing. We need to get that back on the pitch, put in a strong performance and score goals," he said.

Beating Colombia could prove difficult, however, as the South Americans go into the game unbeaten in their last 10 matches. They last beat Iraq 1-0 thanks to a second-half goal from Mateo Cassierra.

As for the team he plans to field, Flick confirmed that Malick Thiaw will earn a second consecutive start. He added:

"How many changes will we make? We trained with two teams today and you could see that we have several options in several positions. We have to look and see what we are going to do. It's about bringing the same stability to the pitch that we had in the second half against Poland and strengthening our attack."
