Davie Selke has reaffirmed his commitment to FC Köln by signing a new contract with the Bundesliga club.

The 28-year-old striker's new deal runs until the summer of 2026.

"Davie not only fits in well as a player, but also as a person, to the way we play and to our values. He goes forward on and off the pitch and knows that he hasn't reached the end of his journey yet," said FC Cologne managing director Christian Keller.

"That makes you want more, and the early extension is the right consequence of that. We are very happy that Davie is with us and wants to continue on this path for the long term," he added.

Davie Selke, who has scored five goals in 17 appearances for FC Köln since joining the club in January, said:

"I think everything that we talked about before my move to Köln has gone as planned. I like the way football is played here and it fits perfectly with the way I play, at least from my point of view. From the beginning, I was really enthusiastic about 1. FC Köln - the fans and the atmosphere at home games.

"The coaching staff and the guys in the dressing room have always given me a good feeling. The extension until 2026 is a sign of trust from both sides. I have found my sporting home here and will continue to work hard for the success of the team."
