Hertha BSC attacker Jessic Ngankam has revealed that he rejected interest from local rivals Union Berlin.

In a YouTube conversation with former Hertha youth player Bilal Kamarieh, Ngankam reveals that he only briefly considered the interest from the Champions League participants.

"I knew there was interest, even for a while. But I never really thought about it. My father had mentioned it once in passing. There are always a lot of clubs calling or asking," said Ngankam.

"My advisor came and said, 'Wait a minute! Are you ready? Union Berlin want you'. Then he asked if that was an option for me. Then I was quiet and calm for three or four minutes. After five minutes I managed to answer. Then I said directly: "No, we're not doing that!"

Eintracht Frankfurt are also believed to be interested in the 22-year-old.
