Borussia Mönchengladbach will apparently be losing one of their most important players, with Kicker reporting that Jonas Hofmann is set to sign for Bayer Leverkusen.

The German football magazine claims that Hofmann will leave Gladbach through a release clause of around €10 million.

Apparently, Gladbach tried to extend Hofmann's contract beyond 2025 and remove the release clause, but without success.

Hofmann has spent the last seven and a half years at the Borussia-Park, scoring 48 goals and 51 assists in 214 appearances.

Impressively, he was directly involved in 26 goals (14 goals, 12 assists) in 35 appearances for 'Die Fohlen' last season.
