Reports: Schalke and Hoffenheim work out details of Bülter transfer

Both Sky Germany and the Bundesrepublik's preeminent footballing publication now report that FC Schalke 04 and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim have ironed out the details with respect to the transfer of attacker Marius Bülter.
A deal rumored to be in the works for quite some time has finally reached a breakthrough phase. Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg reports that TSG 1899 Hoffenheim are set to pay FC Schalke 04 some €4 million (plus bonuses) to secure the services of veteran striker Marius Bülter. Germany's Kicker Magazine confirms the report and adds that a medical is scheduled for tomorrow.

Kicker does report that the base transfer fee may be closer to €3 million, though it's unclear as to whether the journal is basing this on an earlier report from Plettenberg. In any event, die Königsblauen are set to gain a significant plus for the player they paid some €800,000 to acquire two years ago.

The 30-year-old Bülter played by far the best season of his professional career for the relegated Schalke in the just-completed campaign, netting 11 goals and chipping in four assists. He was also one of the vital performers in Schalke's 2021/22 promotion campaign as well, helping die Knappen reclaim their place in the top flight with 10 goals and 13 assists.
