Confirmed: Union loan Leweling out to Stuttgart with fees and options
FC Union Berlin striker Jamie Leweling's loan-out to VfB Stuttgart was confirmed on Thursday afternoon.
Germany U21 striker Jamie Leweling will spend the season on loan in Swabia. The 22-year-old's rumored loan out to Stuttgart was officially confirmed on Thursday afternoon. Stuttgart correspondent for Germany's Kicker Magazine George Moissidis reports that there is a €200,000 loan fee built into the arrangement. Additionally, a purchase clause of just over €4 million is part of the deal.
"Jamie can be used in several positions," VfB sports directoring Fabian Wohlgemuth noted in a statement accompanying the signing, "He hasgained Bundesliga experience in Fürth and at Union and proved his qualities. With his footballing skills and intense style of play, he is an asset to our attack."
Union sporting director Oliver Ruhnert also released a statement on behalf of Leweling's parent club. The FCU administrator emphasized that Union remained convinced of the player's qualities and expressed the hope that the Nürnberg-native would accrue more playing time as part of his "new challenge".
