FC Augsburg defender Martin Hinteregger has been handed a fine by the club who also restricted him to train individually today as a result of his controversial comments in the weekend.

After Augsburg's 0-2 loss to Borussia Mönchengladbach, Hinteregger criticized head coach Manuel Baum.

"I can't say anything positive about him, and I will not say anything negative," the defender said.

Baum admits Hinteregger's comments suprised him.

"I was surprised by his statements, especially because other players have said the complete opposite. Of course, I also spoke to him personally and told him my opinion," the Augsburg coach said, as quoted by the club.

Augsburg are sitting 15h in the Bundesliga table ahead of their next game against Mainz on Sunday.
