Confirmed: Wolfsburg centre-back joins Schalke on loan

Jeffrey Bruma has left VfL Wolfsburg to join Schalke 04 on loan for the rest of the season.
Schalke 04 have completed the signing of VfL Wolfsburg defender Jeffrey Bruma on a loan deal for the rest of the season.

Bruma, who hasn't played a single game for Wolfsburg this season, hopes he will get more chances in Gelsenkirchen.

"My goal was to find a club with a good perspective where I can get to play," the centre-back said, as quoted on the club's website.

"Schalke 04 is such a club. I want to be part of the team as quickly as possible and help where I can in the second half of the season," he continued.

Schalke coach Domenico Tedesco says he's happy to have reinforced his defence after Benjamin Stambouli was recently ruled out for four weeks with a broken jaw.

"Especially after Benjamin Stambouli's injury, it's important for us to have another option in defence. That's why we're delighted to have brought in Jeffrey Bruma - an experienced centre-back who already knows the Bundesliga well," Tedesco said.
