Bayer Leverkusen missed the opportunity to narrow the gap to title rivals Bayern Munich, as they were held to a 0-0 draw against Union Berlin on Saturday afternoon.

In his post-match interview, Bayer 04 coach Xabi Alonso admitted that the performance was not up to par.

“It wasn’t good enough. We didn’t manage to take advantage of our scoring opportunities. We wanted to win,” Xabi Alonso said in a post-match interview.

With only five games left and a six-point deficit to Bayern, Leverkusen’s hopes of securing the title are fading. However, Alonso remains determined.

“It’s not over, we have to keep going; there are still five games left,” he insisted.
