In addition to acquiring right-back Kevin Mbabu on loan from Fulham, FC Augsburg are reportedly about to conclude a loan deal for Japhet Tanganga of Tottenham Hotspur. This is reported by Italian transfer gurus Fabrizio Romano and Luca Bedoni, as well as Sky Germany. Tanganga has reportedly arrived in the Fuggerstadt and will be introduced alongside Mbabu following his medical.

Bedoni claims that there is a €5.5 million purchase option built into Tanganga's loan contract. This clause can be automatically triggered under certain conditions. Augsburg were set on acquiring Swiss defender Gregory Wüthrich yesterday, but the Sturm Graz defender failed his medical. Mbabu and Tanganga maintain a combined estimated market worth of €10.5 million in the latest transfermarkt listings.
