FC Köln announce new deal for Thielmann

FC Köln have extended Jan Thielmann's contract until 2026.
Jan Thielmann has committed himself to a new long-term contract with 1. FC Köln.

The Bundesliga outfit have announced today that the 21-year-old attacker's deal has been extended until 2026.

"Jan is one of our biggest talents. He has consistently developed since his first-team debut and has over 100 appearances at just 21. Had he not had the recent injury setbacks; he would have had many more games under his belt," said FC Köln managing director Christian Keller.

"We are convinced that his development has not come to an end and are looking forward to seeing him continue his path at FC when he is back on the pitch. Thanks to his impressive mentality, we’ll have a lot to look forward to."

Thielmann, who is currently sidelined with an injury, commented:

"The things that I’ve experienced at FC so far motivate me every day in rehab to give 100%. I can’t wait to finally get back on the pitch and give everything to help FC and the team to be successful. I was an FC fan as a young boy, always wanted to play for FC and for that reason I am very proud to have made my first-team debut here. I am looking forward to the coming years at FC and everything that we can achieve together."
