Tuchel explains why Musiala didn't play against Bochum

Thomas Tuchel didn't want to risk Jamal Musiala against Bochum because the youngster had a minor muscle problem after the win over Manchester United.
Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel has revealed why he left Jamal Musiala on the bench in Saturday's 7-0 win over Bochum.

Ahead of Bayern's DFB-Pokal match against Preußen Münster tomorrow, Tuchel revealed that he didn't want to take any risks with Musiala after the youngster complained of a minor muscle problem following Wednesday's 4-3 win over Manchester United.

"My expectations of him are clear. But it is also important that his health remains stable. He had a slight reaction after the United game, a slight muscle hardening. He could have played against Bochum, but we didn't want to take any risks," Tuchel told reporters.

"He needs to stay stable now. Jamal can make a difference for us. In terms of goals and assists, he has set a high standard for himself. But we haven't set an exact number."

Musiala, 20, has racked up 31 goals and 24 assists in 129 matches for Bayern so far.
