Fantasy Bundesliga: Must-haves and differentials for Matchday 9

Ahead of Matchday 9, we have highlighted a must-have player (M) and a differential pick (D) from each game that you should consider for your Fantasy Bundesliga team.
VfL Bochum 1848 v. 1. FSV Mainz 05:

M: Brajan Gruda, Midfielder (M05, 1.7M, 4%) - Gruda has provided a huge offensive boost for Mainz recently, starting the last three matches and notching a goal and an assist in the last two. At such a low price point as well, you cannot go wrong with his inclusion to your squad.

D: Gonçalo Paciência, Forward (BOC, 6.1M, 0%) - After a horrendous last season in La Liga, Paciência is starting to find his footing back in the Bundesliga. The former Eintracht and Schalke player has started the last two matches for Bochum and grabbed the lone goal in their loss to Freiburg last weekend.

FC Bayern München v. SV Darmstadt 98:

M: Jamal Musiala, Midfielder (FCB, 15.3M, 18%) - Musiala has been much better in the Champions League over the Bundesliga this season but one would be foolish to think he won’t turn it around. Even though his last match was UCL, he played 90 minutes for the first time this season. Much more to come from the German international.

D: Kingsley Coman, Forward (FCB, 14.1M, 2%) - Coman is still only at 2% ownership while starting practically every game so far for Bayern. He is in the top eight in Fantasy points for forwards and will sneakily continue to score a ton of Fantasy points this year.

Borussia Mönchengladbach v. 1. FC Heidenheim 1846:

M: Jan-Niklas Beste, Midfielder (HDH, 8.5M, 31%) - Beste has been nothing short of the best player for Heidenheim so far, racking up four goals and three assists on the season. His Fantasy outings have been stellar as well, scoring double digit points in four of his seven games played. That puts him fifth in total Fantasy points for all midfielders.

D: Alassane Pléa, Forward (BMG, 10.1M, 1%) - Pléa has been a bit invisible this season, with only one great game in which he scored twice and grabbed an assist. He is on discount at the moment and Heidenheim have let in over 20 goals this season so far, a prime chance to get back on the scoresheet.

SV Werder Bremen v. 1. FC Union Berlin:

M: Robin Gosens, Defender (FCU, 11.7M, 14%) - This losing streak for Union seems like it cannot continue on for much longer. Union are too strong a squad to lose nine games in a row in all competitions. If they can pull themselves from the grave, Gosens will surely have a major hand in the turnaround.

D: Marvin Ducksch, Forward (SVW, 11.3M, 0%) - Ducksch had been flying high, recording a goal or an assist in his previous five straight matches before last weekend. If Union revert back to the side that has been losing so frequently, he could easily start a new streak.

FC Augsburg v. VfL Wolfsburg:

M: Jonas Wind, Forward (WOB, 11.9M, 5%) - Wind still managed double digit Fantasy points last outing without needing a goal or an assist. He continues to show that he is one of the top forwards in the Bundesliga this season.

D: Phillip Tietz, Forward (FCA, 7.4M, 0%) - Tietz made his name known last weekend, scoring a goal and an assist in Augsburg’s demolition of Heidenheim. If he can keep this form, he will see many more minutes this season.

VfB Stuttgart v. TSG Hoffenheim:

M: Enzo Millot, Midfielder (VFB, 8.9M, 4%) - Stuttgart is going to have to find some creative ways to score some goals with Guirassy out for the match. Millot has been a revelation for them this season, playing at a much higher level than before. He already has two goals and an assist to his name, a career high. They will certainly look to him to fill some of the gap.

D: Maximilian Beier, Forward (TSG, 6.8M, 1%) - The future of Hoffenheim, Beier inked a new deal that will keep him in Sinsheim until 2027. He has been nothing short of spectacular so far this season, scoring six goals already.

RB Leipzig v. 1. FC Köln:

M: Loïs Openda, Forward (RBL, 15.2M, 9%) - Openda has three goals and an assist in his last three league games and is showing to be another fantastic signing by Leipzig. Openda will undoubtedly be a top striker by the end of the year.

D: Emil Forsberg, Forward (RBL, 8.8M, 0%) - Forsberg has seen a ton of minutes recently and rewarded the management by scoring his first goal of the season last weekend against Darmstadt. An in-form Forsberg like years past could spell trouble for the rest of the league.

Eintracht Frankfurt v. Borussia Dortmund:

M: Julian Ryerson, Defender (BVB, 9M, 12%) - Ryerson missed the midweek UCL clash due to illness but should be ready for the weekend. He has been as advertised for Dortmund, scoring double digit Fantasy points in three of the last four matches.

D: Omar Marmoush, Forward (SGE, 10.6M, 0%) - Marmoush is starting to find his role with Eintracht after spending the last few years with Wolfsburg and Stuttgart. He has started the last four matches and grabbed his first goal of the season last matchday against Hoffenheim.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen v. Sport-Club Freiburg:
M: Jeremie Frimpong, Defender (B04, 16.1M, 59%) - An absolutely stunning player to watch, Frimpong has been one of the main excitements of this Leverkusen squad. He has two goals and an assist in his last two league games and with a little break from the midweek Europa League, he should be fully rested for the weekend.

D: Ritsu Dōan, Midfielder (SCG, 11.1M, 1%) - Dōan is starting to find his form this season, scoring his first goal and assist in the last two matches between league and UEL play. Freiburg desperately need him to continue playing at his peak.
