FC Augsburg fullback "Iago" Amaral Borduchi will be departing German football when his current contract expires this summer. As is common practice for South American players leaving Europe on free transfers, the player has signed a pre-contract ahead of a summer switch. Iago's German club showed no real interest in extending his current working papers. A move back to his native Brazil had been rumored for some time.

Iago joined Augsburg from Brazil's SC Internacional in the summer of 2019. The 26-year-old will be headed back to Brazil to play for Esporte Clube Bahia. In four plus seasons in Germany's Fuggerstadt, Iago has scored five goals in 95 appearances across all competitions. He's bagged two scorer points (one goal and one assists) in 11 league appearances this year.
