Important weeks lie ahead for Alexander Nübel, who is on loan at VfB Stuttgart from Bayern Munich until the end of the season.

Sky Germany reports that talks over Nübel's future are set to take place in April, and that the goalkeeper could extend his contract with the Bavarians beyond 2025 and extend his loan spell with Stuttgart for another season.

However, this is only an option if Nübel is given the prospect of becoming Bayern's number one goalkeeper when Manuel Neuer's contract expires after next season, the report claims.

Stuttgart are keen to keep hold of Nübel, but his loan demands mean that another loan is the only realistic option.

According to the report, the Swabian club have already started looking for suitable alternatives should their attempts to keep Nübel prove unsuccessful.

Stefan Ortega (Manchester City) and Odysseas Vlachodimos (Nottingham Forest) are said to have been lined up as possible alternatives.
