Real Sociedad's Martin Zubimendi reportedly remains a transfer target for Bayern Munich, despite the fact that fellow Spaniard Xabi Alonso will not be joining from Bayer Leverkusen as Thomas Tuchel's successor.

That's according to Italian transfer market insider Fabrizio Romano, who claims that Xabi Alonso's rejection hasn't changed Bayern's stance on signing the 25-year-old Spaniard.

However, the Bavarians could face stiff competition for Zubimendi's signature, with Arsenal also said to have set their sights on the defensive midfielder.

Zubimendi is tied to Real Madrid until 2027 and has a market value of 50 million according to Transfermarkt.
