Hannover boss confirms Werder are interested in Füllkrug

Werder Bremen have contacted Hannover 96 about the availability of Niclas Füllkrug, says Martin Kind.

Hannover 96 chief Martin Kind has revealed that Werder Bremen are showing concrete interest in Niclas Füllkrug.

Füllkrug has been linked with a return to his former club, and Kind has now confirmed that Werder are in fact interested in the striker.

"Werder are the first to have concretely positioned themselves. We are open for talks," Kind told Sportbuzzer.

It has been reported that Füllkrug could leave Hannover via an exit clause of €12 million at the end of the season if the club get relegated.

And with 'Die Roten' being rock bottom of the Bundesliga with just 14 points, that seems like an increasingly likely scenario.

Füllkrug, 26, is currently sidelined with a knee injury that will keep him out of action for the rest of the season.

The striker came through the youth ranks at Werder Bremen before leaving the club to join FC Nürnberg in 2014. He moved to Hannover in 2016.
