Claudio Pizarro close to agreeing a new deal with Werder Bremen

At the age of 40, Claudio Pizarro isn't ready to put an end to his footballing career yet.

Claudio Pizarro is set to put pen to paper on a new deal with Werder Bremen, Deichstube understands.

According to the German news outlet, the parties only need to sort out the last details before the 40-year-old can sign a one-year extension.

After scoring Werder Bremen's equaliser in the 2-2 draw with Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, Pizarro said that he still has the desire to play football professionally.

Pizarro has scored six goals in 28 appearances for Werder this season.
