Hannover 96 have appointed Mirko Slomka their new coach while Jan Schlaudraff takes over the sporting director position that has been vacant since Horst Heldt was sacked in April.

Thomas Doll replaced André Breitenreiter as the club's head coach in January, but ultimately couldn't save Hannover from relegation to the 2. Bundesliga.

Doll's contract runs until 2020, but it seems he will now be replaced by Slomka, although Hannover don't specifically mention what will happen to their current coach.

Slomka and Schlaudraff will be presented at a press conference later today.
