Hertha BSC keeper Rune Jarstein says he wants to keep playing for the German capital club until he's 40 years old.

The 34-year-old's contract is due to run out in 2021, but he wants to stay for longer that.

"I want to play for Hertha BSC until I'm 40. I feel younger and more flexible than I did when I was 24," Jarstein said in an interview with Kicker and added:

"My deal is still running, and it shouldn't be my last contract in Berlin. I didn't leave Norway until I was 29. That's quite late, but in Berlin, I've found a place where I fit in and that suits me well.

"I firmly believe that as a goalkeeper, you can get even better in your mid-30s. The Rune Jarstein of 2019 is better than the 2016 edition. And next season, I want to be even better than in the past one," he said.

Jarstein joined Hertha from Norwegian side Viking FK in January 2014.
