Hannes Wolf hopes to play in a central position at RB Leipzig

New RB Leipzig signing Hannes Wolf has talked about his favourite position.
Hannes Wolf, who will join RB Leipzig from Red Bull Salzburg this summer, says he expects to play in a central offensive position under his new coach Julian Nagelsmann.

"Julian Nagelsmann has told me that he needs a player who can play any position offensively. But, above all, he sees me as a central player behind the strikers," Wolf said in an interview with Sport Bild and added:

"I personally believe that I'm best at the number 10 position or as a second striker. I can also play on te wing, but I feel most comfortable in the centre. That's my favourite position."

Wolf could face hefty competition in the middle, though, with the likes of Emil Forsberg, Marcel Sabitzer and Kevin Kampl among the players that he will compete for places with.

"It's clear that there's a lot of competition when you join the team that ended third in the German Bundesliga. But I'm ready to face the challenge and hope that I get to play," Wolf said.

The Austrian international scored 11 goals and made 12 assists for Red Bull Salzburg in the 2018/19 season.
