Here are our Fantasy Bundesliga tips for Matchday 3.
In this Fantasy Bundesliga article, we will not be focusing on the most obvious premium options such as Jadon Sancho and Robert Lewandowski. Instead, we will take a look at the players who could offer great value as differentials for Matchday 3.
Goalkeepers:
Zack Steffen (Fortuna Düsseldorf, 7.3M) still looks like the best value-for-money option in goal while Alexander Schwolow (Freiburg, 9.1M) offers a good, slightly more expensive alternative. If you're willing to pay even more for a goalkeeper, you should look at Lukas Hradecky (Bayer Leverkusen, 11M). Despite playing for a strong team, the Finnish goalkeeper is likely to make plenty of saves because of Leverkusen's offensive philosophy and rather shaky defence.
Defenders:
Priced at just 3.4 million, Nico Schlotterbeck (SC Freiburg, 3.4M) remains an extremely attractive option, with Freiburg heading into a home game against FC Köln after winning their first two games of the season. Philipp Lienhart (SC Freiburg, 5.2M) is another cheap option from Freiburg while wing-backs Jonathan Schmid (SC Freiburg, 9.7M) and Christian Günter (SC Freiburg, 10.6M) offer good value if you're willing to spend a little more.
Even though Werder Bremen have lost their first two games, Marco Friedl (Werder Bremen, 5.6M) might still be worth a punt, with 'The Green-Whites' facing Augsburg and Union Berlin in their next two games.
Ermin Bicakcic (Hoffenheim, 6.2M) is another viable option in this price-range. The 29-year-old is known as a set-piece threat which he demonstrated with a headed goal in Hoffenheim's 3-2 win over Werder on Matchday 2. His teammate Pavel Kaderabek (Hoffenheim, 11.1M), who also netted against Werder, is a good (albeit more expensive) option.
After losing 0-3 to Bayern on Matchday 2, Schalke now have a nice run of fixtures coming up as they're set to face Hertha (H), Paderborn (A) and Mainz (H), so it might be worth considering Jonjoe Kenny (Schalke 94, 8M) and Bastian Oczipka (Schalke 04, 9.9M).
Martin Hinteregger (Eintracht Frankfurt, 9.3M), who produced 21 points on Matchday 1, costs 9.3 million which is a relatively low price for the 26-year-old who wins many duels and offers a threat from set-pieces. Stefan Lainer (Gladbach, 10.5M) has looked extremely impressive for Gladbach so far and offers great value-for-money at 10.5 million. William (Wolfsburg, 11.4M) and Jerome Roussillon (Wolfsburg, 12.3M) are great options if you have a little more to spend.
Midfielders:
Laszlo Benes (Gladbach, 3.3M) is a real bargain at just 3.3M. Robert Andrich (Union Berlin, 4.4M) has been Union Berlin's stand-out performer so far - from a Fantasy perspective, at least - picking up 20 points in his first two games.
Meanwhile, Daichi Kamada (Frankfurt, 6.2M) remains a great option as he looks set to start for Frankfurt once again while Nuri Sahin (Werder Bremen, 6.5M) has been Werder's highest-scoring midfielder so far, picking up 22 points.
Dennis Geiger (Hoffenheim, 7.2M) (17 points so far), Felix Klaus (Wolfsburg, 7.2M) (17 points so far), Erik Thommy (Fortuna Düsseldorf, 7.4M) (19 points so far), Amine Harit (Schalke 04, 7.7M) (5 points so far) and Josip Brekalo (Wolfsburg, 8M) (17 points so far) are other interesting options in roughly the same price category.
Harit has started both of Schalke's first two games, and although he hasn't been particularly convincing, he may be worth taking a punt on, now that 'The Royal Blues' have some easier fixtures coming up. The offensive midfielder is slightly doubtful, but should be ready to play.
Josip Brekalo has had to settle for the bench until now, but will push to start after coming on to score and make an assist in Wolfsburg's 3-0 win over Hertha last time around. Picking him for the upcoming matchday is a little risky, but he's definitely a player worth monitoring under all circumstances.
If you have a little more to spend, Charles Aranguiz (Leverkusen, 10.3M) (19 points so far), Karim Bellarabi (Leverkusen 11.4M) (17 points so far), Marcel Sabitzer (RB Leipzig, 12.5M) (39 points so far) and Filip Kostic (Eintracht Frankfurt, 13.6M) (29 points so far) all look like solid picks.
Strikers:
Brandon Borrello (SC Freiburg, 3.1M) remains a good striker budget option despite actually playing on the wing. Meanwhile, Josh Sargent (Werder Bremen, 3.9M) should start against Augsburg, replacing the suspended Johannes Eggestein.Streli Mamba (SC Paderborn, 5.2M), who has scored in each of Paderborn's games so far, is another cheap striker worth considering, although he faces a difficult task away at Wolfsburg.
Yuya Osako (Werder Bremen, 9.6M) (25 points so far), Luca Waldschmidt (Freiburg, 11.5M) (20 points so far), Alassane Plea (Gladbach, 12.6M) (29 points so far) and Wout Weghorst (Wolfsburg, 13.6M) (25 points so far) are all in-form options and potential differentials if you can afford a more expensive striker.
Another interesting option is Bas Dost (Eintracht Frankfurt, 11M) who could make his first start after joining 'Die Adler' from Sporting CP.
