Selke: I'll definitely celebrate against RB Leipzig

Hertha's Davie Selke won't hold back if he scores against his former club today.

Davie Selke made the move from RB Leipzig to Hertha Berlin this summer, and today he'll be facing his old club when Hertha are up against 'Die Roten Bullen'.

The 22-year-old striker played for RB Leipzig for two years, but that won't stop him from celebrating today if he manages to score. Only Werder Bremen, where he made his Bundesliga debut in 2013, have that privilege, he says.

“I’ll definitely celebrate. Only Werder Bremen have earned the privilege of me not celebrating a goal against them,” Selke told Bild.

After returning from an ancle injury in October, Selke has fought his way into the lineup and has started the last five Bundesliga games for Hertha. And Selke knows just how to repay coach Pal Dardai for his faith in him - with goals.

“It’s important to feel the coach has confidence in you. If you want to keep developing as a footballer, then you have to be playing. I’m just desperate to repay the faith Pal Dardai and his coaching staff have placed in me by scoring and setting up goals,” Selke told Bild.

Selke has netted twice and set up three goals during this Bundesliga season.
