Rouwen Hennings has put pen to paper on a new deal with Fortuna Düsseldorf, the club have announced.

The 32-year-old's deal was due to run out at the end of this season, but he has now penned a contract extension.

"I feel great trust from my coach, Friedhelm Funkel, as well as the whole environment. That's why I'm very happy that my path with Fortuna will continue. We have a good chance of staying in the Bundesliga, and I will give everything for this goal," Hennings said after signing his new deal.

Fortuna haven't revealed how long Hennings' new contract runs for. According to Bild, the striker has signed a one-year deal until 2021 which will be automatically extended by a further year if he makes at least 17 Bundesliga appearances next season.

Hennings has scored five goals in eight league games this season.
