Bayern München CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has urged the club's players to step up their game following the dismissal of Niko Kovac on Sunday.

'The Bavarians' take on Olympiacos on Wednesday before facing Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, and Rummenigge wants to see wins.

"The performances and results of our team haven't lived up to our expectations in recent weeks. We now have an important week ahead of us," Rummenigge said in an interview with DPA and added:

"We face Olympiacos in the Champions League on Wednesday and want to qualify for the round of 16 with a win. On Saturday, a really important Bundesliga game that we have to win awaits us as we take on Borussia Dortmund in the German Clasico."

Rummenigge didn't want to comment on potential successors for Kovac, but backed Hansi Flick who has been installed as interim coach for now.

"Hansi Flick has our confidence, and I think he's the right man at the moment," Rummenigge said.
