Borussia Dortmund's Nico Schulz says he still has a special connection with Berlin and his former club Hertha BSC.

Schulz, who left Hertha to join Gladbach in 2015, told B.Z.:

"Berlin is my home and will always be so. And Hertha is my club."

Asked if he remains in touch with some of his former teammates at the German capital club, Schulz said:

"Yes, with Salomon Kalou, Marvin Plattenhardt and some of the other guys. I'm often here, that's where we get together."

The left-back came through the youth ranks at Hertha and made 98 appearances for the first team before he left the club in 2015.
