Fàbregas out of the running for Leverkusen job, say reports

According to several reports, Cesc Fabregas will not be named new Bayer Leverkusen coach after all.

Cesc Fàbregas has recently emerged as a leading candidate to succeed Xabi Alonso as Bayer Leverkusen head coach.

However, according to Italian transfer market insiders Gianluca Di Marzio and Fabrizio Romano, the 38-year-old will not be heading to Germany and is instead set to remain with Como.

In addition to Leverkusen, RB Leipzig have also shown interest in Fàbregas.

Other names linked with the Leverkusen job include Erik ten Hag and Xavi Hernández.

Xabi Alonso has confirmed his departure from the BayArena and is widely expected to succeed Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid.
