Bayern München reserve keeper Sven Ulreich admits he sometimes misses being on the pitch although he accepts his place in the pecking order behind Manuel Neuer.

The 31-year-old, who is yet to make an appearance for the German champions this season, told Augsburger Allgemeine:

"When Manuel Neuer makes a save, the spectators applaud, and I sometimes sit on the bench and think to myself, 'Wow, I miss that feeling'. It's simply something else when 70,000 people clear for you.

"But Manuel is clearly the best goalkeeper in the world, so it's no shame to sit on the bench here," Ulreich said.

Ulreich has played 69 games for Bayern since he joined the Bavarians from Stuttgart in 2015.
