Raphael Guerreiro explains why he turned down PSG and Barcelona to stay at Dortmund

Raphael Guerreiro has opened up on his decision to reject interest from Paris Saint-Germain and FC Barcelona to stay at Borussia Dortmund.
Raphael Guerreiro was linked with FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, but ultimately ended up staying at Borussia Dortmund.

After carefully considering his future, the 25-year-old committed himself to BVB by signing a new deal until 2023.

"The weather is certainly sunnier in Barcelona. But that's not what counts when you choose a club," he said about his decision, according to Ruhr Nachrichten.

"I fit in well here. The coach gives me a good feeling, and the fans are fantastic," he added.

BVB bosses Hans-Joachim Watzke and Reinhard Rauball have made it clear that the club want to sign a new striker, and Guerreiro would like to see a target man in the mold of Paris Saint-Germain's Edinson Cavani come to Signal Iduna Park.

"A guy with a profile like Edinson Cavani would help us," he said.

Guerreiro has made 16 appearances for Dortmund this season, racking up two goals and one assist.
