Dortmund secure last-16 place with 2-1 win over Slavia Prague

Borussia Dortmund beat Slavia Prague 2-1 to secure a spot in the Champions League's round of 16.
Borussia Dortmund are through to the last 16 in the Champions League after a 2-1 victory over Slavia Prague at Signal Iduna Park.

Dortmund were third in Group F ahead of tonight's games, but climbed up to second place after Inter were beaten 1-2 by FC Barcelona who were already through as group winners.

Jadon Sancho gave Dortmund a perfect start as he made it 1-0 after 10 minutes, but the guests pulled one back through Tomas Soucek who made it 1-1 shortly before the break.

Julian Brandt sent Dortmund ahead once more after 61 minutes, smashing the ball into the back of the net from a narrow angle.

Dortmund had Julian Weigl sent off when he was shown his second yellow card after 77 minutes, but despite playing with 10 men towards the end of the game, the home side managed to hold on to the lead until the final whistle.

Elsewhere, RB Leipzig, who had already booked their place in the round of 16 before tonight, drew 2-2 with Olympique Lyon. 'Die Roten Bullen' go through as winners of Group G.
