Granit Xhaka's agent, José Noguera, has confirmed that his client wants to move to Hertha BSC from Arsenal.

Speaking in an interview with Fussballtransfers, Noguera revealed that Xhaka has informed Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta that he would like to make the switch to the German capital.

"Granit Xhaka is in agreement with Hertha. He has asked Arsenal and Mikel Arteta for permission to move to Berlin," Noguera said.

However, Arteta hinted he would like Xhaka to stay as he spoke highly of the central midfielder ahead of Arsenal's clash with Bournemouth on Thursday.

"I was happy when Arsenal signed him because I thought he was going to be a terrific player," Arteta said, according to Sky.

Xhaka played 90 minutes in Arsenal's 1-1 draw with Bournemouth.
