Borussia Dortmund have cancelled their pre-season trip to Asia because of the Coronavirus outbreak.

"Unfortunately, we have to cancel our planned trip to Asia. We are very sorry about this, because we know how much the local people want us to be close to them again," BVB managing director Carsten Cramer told Sport Bild.

"We will take all protective measures that are necessary. The safety of the team and all BVB employees is always our top priority," he added.

Asked if Dortmund are now instead planning a trip to the United States as in the past two years, Cramer responded:

"We have a few offers and will examine them all. If we decide to go on a trip, it must be 100 percent responsbile and without risk for all parties involved."
