Thomas Müller wasn't thinking about extending his contract six months ago
Thomas Müller admits he was considering his situation at Bayern München towards the end of Niko Kovac's tenure as coach.

Müller often had to settle for the bench under Niko Kovac's tenure as Bayern coach, but since Hansi Flick took over as coach in November, the situation has changed for the better for the 30-year-old, who extended his contract until 2023 this week.
"In autumn, I was left out of the starting eleven for six games in a row. It was difficult. Of course it made me think. Emotionally, it was very tense back then. I wasn't necessarily thinking that I would be extending my contract in the spring," Müller said during an online press conference on Thursday and went on the explain why he chose to sign a new deal:
"With the change of coach and different playing style, everything has developed positively. Not only have I been playing more, but I've also been able to put my stamp on our games again."
Müller has spent his entire career at Bayern, scoring 195 goals in 521 games for the Bavarians.
