Jean-Clair Todibo open to extending stay at Schalke 04
Jean-Clair Todibo says he could 'well imagine' staying at Schalke 04 beyond the end of the season.
Jean-Clair Todibo has given Schalke 04 fans hope that he could stay at the club beyond the summer.
The highly-rated youngster, who is on loan from FC Barcelona until the end of the season, told Bild:
"I want to finish the season first and secure a good position. As for the future, I can well imagine staying at Schalke."
However, Schalke can't afford to trigger Todibo's €25 million buyout clause, and Barcelona are unlikely to lower their demands for the centre-back, who has reportedly attracted interest from the likes of Juventus and Everton.
Therefore, an extension of the youngster's loan deal by a further season seems to be Schalke's only hope of keeping him.
Todibo has made seven appearances for Schalke since his move to Germany in January.
