Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Tobias Strobl will be sidelined for the rest of the Bundesliga campaign, according to Sport Bild.

The 30-year-old limped off with a muscle injury in Saturday's 1-3 loss to Bayer Leverkusen.

Tests have now shown that he suffered a muscle strain, which means he won't be able to feature again for Gladbach this season, as per Sport Bild.

Since the return of the Bundesliga, Strobl has been filling in for the injured Denis Zakaria in defensive midfield.

Strobl, who is out of contract this summer, has made 12 appearances for the club this season.
