When Leverkusen played with a three-man defence against Bayern München on Saturday, Aleksandar Dragovic was given the nod to play with Bender and Tapsoba while Tah watched the entire game from the bench.
However, in an interview with Kicker, Tah insists he isn't worried about his current situation.
"I believe it's a positive situation. It's not just about me. The coach can rely on our four centre-backs. That is ideal if you have high goals like we do," said Tah, who has been on the bench for two of Leverkusen's last three games after he missed out against Gladbach due to a back problem.
Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes stresses that Tah can still be an important player for the club in the future.
"He has won a higher percentage of his duels than any other player in the squad and has shown time and again that he can be an important factor with his speed and ball-winning ability. I believe that 'Jona' has the potential to improve further. But in the first half of the season, everyone here had room for improvement - not just 'Jona'," Rolfes said.
