Eintracht Frankfurt captain David Abraham says he would like to stay at the club for another six months at least before hanging up his boots.

The 33-year-old has been linked with a return to his former club CA Independiente, but reveals that he has decided to spend the remaining part of his career at Frankfurt.

"I still have a contract here, and due to the difficult situation amid the corona crisis I think it's best if I stay here in Frankfurt, at least for the next six months. And then I will definitely end my career. After Frankfurt, I will no longer play professional football," Abraham said in an interview with Sky.

"After so many years here, it would be nice to end my career in Frankfurt. This has become my second home. This team have given me everything, I have achieved a lot here."

Abraham's contract expires in the summer of 2021. The centre-back joined Frankfurt from Hoffenheim in 2015 and has gone on to make 158 appearances for 'Die Adler', chipping in with three goals and seven assists.
