FC Augsburg boss Stefan Reuter has revealed that Philipp Max has asked for permission to leave the club.

According to Bild, PSV Eindhoven have made an offer of €7.5 million for the left-back, but Augsburg are holding out for at least €10 million.

"It is correct that we have received an offer for Philipp Max. We are in talks with the interested club. However, we are still far apart on a transfer fee," club boss Stefan Reuter told Bild.

"After we received the offer, we immediately wanted to hold a meeting with the player. He informed us of his desire to leave," he added.

Max's contract expires in 2022.
