Fantasy Bundesliga tips: 10 players to consider for Matchday 3

Here are 10 players you should consider bringing into your Fantasy Bundesliga team for Matchday 3.
In this Fantasy Bundesliga article, we will not be focusing on the most obvious premium options such as Jadon Sancho, Leroy Sané and Robert Lewandowski.

Instead, we will highlight players with a lower ownership percentage, who could offer great value as differentials for Matchday 3.

Christopher Lenz, Union Berlin (Defender, 9.3M)
It hasn't been the most promising start to the season for Union Berlin, who sit 14th in the table with one point after the first two games. However, looking at Union's coming fixtures – Mainz (H), Schalke (A), Freiburg (H), Hoffenheim (A), Bielefeld (H), Köln (A) – the German capital side surely deserve some attention from Fantasy managers. A popular Fantasy pick last season due to his low price and good points return, Union wing-back Christopher Lenz is much more expensive this year. But being the fifth-highest scoring defender on the game so far, having racked up 19 points in his first two games, Lenz may be worth his price tag as Union head into some favorable matchups. Alternatively, you could go for Christopher Trimmel (9.7M), who made a total of 11 assists in the league last season, or the much cheaper centre-backs Robin Knoche (4.7M) and Nico Schlotterbeck (5.2M) if you're looking for a bargain pick.

Ludwig Augustinsson, Werder Bremen (Defender, 9.6M)
The highest-scoring defender on the game so far with 26 points, Augustinsson looks like a solid pick for Werder Bremen's home game against newly-promoted Arminia Bielefeld.

Angelino, RB Leipzig (Defender, 13.1M)
Angelino only picked up three points last time against Leverkusen last time around, but could have got on the scoresheet with a little more luck as he steered a shot just wide of Lukas Hradecky's far post towards the end of the game. Playing at home against a Schalke side that have conceded 11 goals in two games, the attacking wing-back certainly has the potential to score big this week.

Jean-Manuel Mbom, Werder Bremen (Midfielder, 1.1M)
To the surprise of many, 20-year-old Mbom was in Werder's line-up for last week's 3-1 win over Schalke 04, making his Bundesliga debut. The young central midfielder isn't certain to keep his starting spot, but with a price of just 1.1 million, you might want to take a chance on him.

Marius Bülter, Union Berlin (Midfielder, 8.3M)
Having racked up 17 points in his first two league games this season, Bülter is the most intriguing midfield option from Union. The 27-year-old looks nailed on to start in an attacking position and proved that he can score and assist goals last season, which saw him find the net seven times and set up five goals in 36 games in all competitions.

Josip Brekalo, Wolfsburg (Midfielder, 9.5M)
Brekalo has had a solid start to the season, picking up 20 points in his first two games. The 22-year-old, who scored from a free-kick against Freiburg last week, has an eye for goal and can be a real difference-maker when he's on his game.

Dani Olmo, RB Leipzig (Midfielder, 14.2M)
The 22-year-old didn't have his best day against Bayer Leverkusen last week, but still deserves to be on your Fantasy radar, with RB Leipzig taking on crisis-hit Schalke 04 this Saturday. Having scored five goals and made three assists in 18 games for 'Die Roten Bullen' so far, Olmo has a knack for getting in dangerous positions. Alternatively, you could bring in Emil Forsberg (11.4M), who has scored in each of Leipzig's first two Bundesliga games this season. Unfortunately, the Swedish international is a striker on the game, but he's definitely still worth considering with the form he's in.

Sheraldo Becker, Union Berlin (Striker, 3M)
Just like Forsberg, Becker is an attacking midfielder, who is listed as a striker. The 25-year-old had a decent game against Gladbach last week, looking particularly impressive in the first half, which saw him hit the crossbar. If he's in the starting eleven against struggling Mainz on Friday, Becker could be a great budget pick. You could also look at Taiwo Awoniyi (6M), who is expected to play up front – at least unless Joel Pohjanpalo (3.9M) is thrown straight into the line-up after arriving on loan from Leverkusen.

Niclas Füllkrug, Werder Bremen (Striker, 11.4M)
The 27-year-old should be bursting with confidence after his hat-trick against Schalke 04 last week. Costing around three million less, Josh Sargent (8.2M) is a viable alternative after racking up 13 points last time around.

Andrej Kramaric, Hoffenheim (Striker, 14.8M)
With the red-hot form Kramaric has been in this season so far, he surely deserves a mention as well. After netting a brace against Bayern last week, the 29-year-old has scored seven goals in three games in all competitions this season. Not bad at all.
