Max Kruse confirms eight-week absence

Union Berlin talisman Max Kruse released his official injury diagnosis on his Instagram feed Sunday evening.

The news gets far worse for the Bundesliga's upstart club. Max Kruse officially confirmed on social media that his injury will keep him sidelined for approximately two months.

"Unfortunately, it's not a torn muscle fiber, but rather a torn muscle bundle," the 32-year-old attacker conveyed on Instagram, "I'll be out for about eight weeks."

The striker did express some relief that he hadn't suffered an ACL tear. After noting that some of his worst fears certainly tended in that direction, Kruse, true his unapologetically blunt form, concluded his post by saying "a torn muscle cluster is absolute shit."

The latest news serves as an even worse pronouncement than what had been speculated upon earlier in the day. Union coach Urs Fischer must now make do without the scorer of six goals and five assists for at least the next 11 fixtures.
