Angelino has lashed out at his former manager Pep Guardiola, who he played under at Manchester City.

The 24-year-old made an instant impact under RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann after joining the Bundesliga outfit on loan from Manchester City for the second half of last season.

Ahead of the 2020/21 campaign, Angelino re-joined 'Die Roten Bullen' on loan with a performance-based option to buy that was recently activated, and he has now reflected on his difficult spell in England, hitting out at Guardiola for 'killing' his confidence.

"There is a big difference between the two coaches. One gave me confidence and let me play, the other didn't. You need courage, and Julian [Nagelsmann] has that," Angelino told reporters on Wednesday.

"It killed me. Confidence is everything, and I was judged on two friendlies."

The Spanish left-back has racked up eight goals and 11 assists in 31 appearances for RB Leipzig this season.
