Fantasy Bundesliga: Matchday 24 Review

With the conclusion of Matchday 24, we will be taking a closer look at selected performances and trends in detail as well as what to look out for before the next matchday in this recap.
Leipzig hot on Bayern’s trail

Leipzig has won their last 6 league games and are putting the pressure on leaders Bayern with their good form, with Christopher Nkunku, MID (16.9M, 21) the standout player. Alexander Sørloth, FOR (14.7M, 14) could retain his role as their starting striker after scoring again.

Meanwhile, Leroy Sane, MID (19.2M, 11) and Leon Goretzka, MID (15.9M, 19) seems to be viable picks in Bayern’s midfield again, especially Goretzka who scored 22 and 19 points in the recent matchdays.

Wolfburg’s clean sheet streak ended

Wolfsburg conceded 2 goals against Hoffenheim last weekend, with popular fantasy pick Paulo Otavio seeing red and getting -2 points. Considering that Wolfsburg will be facing Schalke next, a straight swap for the likes of Maxence Lacroix, DEF (6.1M, 4) or Kevin Mbabu, DEF (11.5M, -2) could be an option. Otherwise, some other good options for defence this week are: Niklas Sule, DEF (12.3M, 12) against Werder Bremen (A), or Christopher Trimmel, DEF (10.9M, 12) and Marvin Friedrich, DEF (7.4M, 9) against Koln (H).

Baumgartner in fine form

Christoph Baumgartner, MID (13.2M, 15) has been in form recently, having scored more than 10 points in his recent 4 games, despite only scoring in 2 of those games, showing that he is a good source of bonus points from won duels and goal attempts, and can be one to consider for the upcoming games where Hoffenheim face Stuttgart (A), Mainz (H) and Augsburg (A).

Shocks of the matchday

Pavel Kaderabek, DEF (9.9M, 21) showed a glimpse of his past as a high-returns wingback with 21 points consisting of 2 assists last weekend.

Jadon Sancho, MID (21.5M, 0) and Giovanni Reyna, MID (8.9M, 0) are likely out of this weekend’s game with injuries.
